Return to Yourself
How often do you catch yourself day dreaming of getting away but only so that you can come closer to yourself?
We live in a fast paced society that makes it hard for us to find the time and the stillness to be still, or still enough to become aware of our own thoughts and feelings. We crave more time and more peace yet we often live in a way that prevents us from experiencing this peace.
The Return to Yourself is a program I have created in order to guide our clients towards deeper awareness and understanding of their needs. The purpose with the program is to guide clients back to their authentic selves.
Living in a world where we are constantly confronted with “not being enough“, “being wrong the way we are“ we are kind of chasing some idea, trying hard to optimize ourselves to a point of exhaustion and yet never really arrive. Most of us are disconnected from our body, hence from our inner voice, wisdom and feelings. We live from an idea in our mind of how we should be instead of being who we are.
Psychotherapy, bodywork and breathwork are ways to tune in with our sensations and feelings in order to reconnect with ourselves.
The more we embrace, integrate and embody all aspects of ourselves, we create peace within and we create the strength and courage to expand our range of motion on the inside and as well as on the outside.
Having worked as a clinical psychotherapist for 15 years, I noticed early on in my work with clients that talking was not enough to guide clients towards self-actualization. So rather than just working with cognition and merely talking about emotions, I implemented intuitive & physical exercises early on to help clients feel the emotion in the room with the use of psychotherapeutic interventions and bodywork.
Once the embodied emotions come to life in the room, it then becomes possible to talk about these emotions, to sit through them, allowing the knots to untie naturally with the help of both psychological as well as physical work.
The Return to Yourself started as an idea born out of a deeply rooted desire to help people see themselves and understand themselves on a deeper level. I wanted to be able to offer clients a safe space for a longer period than just one hour per week. I also felt a strong need to work with the human being as a whole in an environment that would bring inspiration and peace, allowing the client to fully let go and dive into their own being.
In order to bring this vision and idea to life, I partnered up with colleagues who are experienced in yoga, breathwork and bodywork for us to to be able to guide clients towards integration and connection by combining psychotherapy with bodywork sessions.
