Starting
Choosing counselling can be a difficult step in seeking out a healing process. Taking that first step can be very challenging and often feel scary. The thought of opening up to anyone, let alone a stranger, is often nerve wrecking. But opening up can be very beneficial for starting you along your healing journey. I am here to guide you in sharing your story and to try and relieve that burden weighing you down.
Therapy is a process that starts with becoming aware of the source and cause of your burdens, in order to be able to understand and begin to accept. Then, if necessary, being taught the tools to start making changes. My therapeutic path is very client focused. You decide what you want to share, how you share it, and where you begin and end your story. I will guide you in a structured and organized matter towards new perspectives and opportunities which can help ease the burden you are carrying and give you new ways of coping. Together we will create a treatment plan based on your needs and circumstances and ease you along your healing path.
When I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.
I see the person as a whole (mind, body & spirit) and use this integrative approach to help you connect with yourself and begin to heal. Having been trained in three different therapeutic methods, Person Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), allows me to meet and help clients based on each individual circumstance and each individual need.
About me
Welcome!
My name is Edita Petojevic. I received my B.A. in psychology from the University of Nicosia in Cyprus and my M.A. in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling from Roehampton University in London, UK. All of my studies and clinical practice were in english, which is also why I feel comfortable offering my services in english. Being a native of both Sweden and the former Jugoslavia, it comes natural for me to offer my services in these two languages as well.
Empathy & congruence

My story
I am privileged to have lived in seven countries and have had the chance to meet and work with various people from all over the world. These experiences and interactions with different cultures have broadened my views and helped me to open up for a better and deeper understanding of life. It's my honour to be able to offer a therapeutic path in three different languages, from an empathic and greater cultural understanding, and gives me the opportunity to reach a vast amount of people.
My Experience
I have 16 years of clinical experience helping individuals, couples, and groups address a wide range of concerns, including anxiety disorders, depression and other mood disorders, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, trauma, abuse (emotional and physical), and substance use issues. I am trained and experienced in working with couples to restore the relationship qualities my clients seek.
Beyond talk therapy, I integrate somatic approaches to support lasting change. I am currently undertaking breathwork teacher training to guide clients toward a calmer nervous system and more effective emotional regulation through grounding and body-centered practices.
My work is grounded in treating the whole person—the mind, body, and nervous system. This holistic perspective informs every session, incorporating body awareness and breath work alongside traditional psychotherapy. This approach inspired the Return to Yourself Program, which helps individuals reconnect with their body and breath through grounding techniques and a structured, evidence-informed framework.
